Our House Before:
After: Whew the hard work is all done . We worked many weekends and finally got the front yard back. For years we have talked about getting rid of the bark and adding grass. Our kids and the neighbors kids spread the bark everywhere. There always was a bark mess all over the sidewalk. So we took advantage and redid the whole front lawn in sod. Looking back at the pictures I think it looks better than it used to. The tree was really hiding our house more than I ever realized.

White Rice -VS- Brown RiceWhite of course! TASTE WINS ! This picture is for my Sister Christel! We always have this healthy little disagreement. She likes to eat brown rice because it is healthier for you. Now I do agree it is, but it taste so darn yucky why even have it all! Eating healthy is a good thing and I am all for it, but if it taste nasty not worth it to me. When we are having family dinner and rice is being served we text each other to let the other know to bring their own rice. Christel's husband, Kyle, loves it when I come for dinner and I bring white rice. Kyle hates it when he has to eat brown rice. Christel got a new dog this week ! So I told her told her to bring her new puppy "Shep", but leave the yucky brown rice home. It has been fun toying with my sister and making fun of her and her brown rice. I am wondering if Christel actually likes brown rice or has it grown on her over time warping her taste buds. Love you tons Christel!

The infamous eye sore of a stump? After the plumbers pulled out the tree stump for us it was so heavy the could not hall it away. They told us sorry we can not lift it with our tractor. Mark tried to cut it up with a chain saw to big, to much dirt in the roots, and some rocks embedded in the tree stump a no go. So we called an arborist tree stump removal company to come get it. He came with a huge truck with a crane to pick up the stump. This was a professional who did it for a living, but it was still to heavy it was tipping his massive truck with a crane. He suggested we try to clean all the dirt out off the stump to make it lighter. So that we did. No easy task mind you we took over three hours with the water hose shovels and an ice pick try to make it lighter. We were afraid it still might be too heavy so we did not call back the arborist. Mark, his dad and brother, and our home teacher after many weeks deliberating on how to get rid of the stump finally decided to use all the young men in our ward to scoot it on to a trailer bed. Mark being young men's president does have its benefits after all. It was too heavy for all those boys and men it would not budge. Finally our home teacher said what if we turn it and roll it onto the bed. Mark put the trailer right under the stump and they rolled it like a giant pumpkin onto the truck. Whew what a relief to get rid of that eye soar on our front side walk. Sorry we put a few scratches and a dent it mark's brothers new trailer. Sorry Scott hope we can still borrow it in the future. Thanks to all the young men and our home teacher for their help.
For memorial weekend we went to Watkins park in Logan Utah for a picnic with Mark's family. While we were eating our lunches it started to rain hard and then it began to hail. We quickly gr abed our things and headed to the bowery to finish eating. We all sat there huddled together it was getting cold for thirty minutes. We were hoping to see if the rain and hell would pass over us so we could go see the animals at the little zoo there. Eventually the rain stopped and we had fun at the zoo feeding the fish and the ducks. Just as we were heading to the cars it began to rain again. We were grateful for the rain break and the fun times with cousins that day.(Where is Parker for this picture I thought he was there. Just like that boy to take off in the rain playing.)

Meg's Preschool graduation from Einstein Preschool
May 27, 2010

Her class Teachers: Mrs. Karen, and Mrs. Heather

Meg is in the back row the only one with glasses.

Meg last one with a horse singing songs.

Meg loved Preschool this year she was taught by her Aunt Mrs. Heather. Every day she would ask me do I get to go to school today. She would come home all happy having a great time. This year with Meg being the only one home I got to substitute about once a month. It was great teaching the kids and watching Meg grow and learn. Next year Mrs. Karen is retiring. It looks like I might be taking her place as the new preschool teacher with Mrs. Heather in the fall. I look forward to helping Mrs. Heather next year!

Bunderson Elementary Closed 2010
Friend Brady, Sariah, Parker, and Meg on train ride. Sariah on the rock wall. Meg on the rock wall. Our elementary school Bunderson is closing! The kids had fun climbing the rock walls, eating ice cream, cotton candy, pizza, hot dogs, and riding the rides. It all was fun but bitter-sweet, since we were all saying goodbye to great school. The girls will be going to foothill next year. Parker moves up the the ACY middle school. We are to close to bus barely, but to far to let the girls walk home. They loved walking home from Bunderson. We will miss the great teachers and our beloved school.

We have some good news among all that has been going on this week. Collin, our oldest, brought home an ivitation to the awards ceremony for the freshman class requesting we attend beacuse he is in the top 10%. Wow that is a great accomplishment for a kid who has ADHD. He has learned to over come many obstacles to be were he is today. He works harder than any kid I know to keep his grades up. We are vey blessed to have him for a son and the good example he sets for his younger siblings. Way to go collin! Wow top 10%!

This is what has been happening over at our house this week!
First we had to take the tree down last Saturday. And Now well, the pictures speak for them selves.

*****Relacing the Main sewer line!***** We had to replace the main sewer line in our house! When we bought the house over nine years ago we started having trouble with the main line backing up and flooding the basement. It would do it every spring and fall. Over the years it got to be more and more. This spring it was flooding the basement every 10 days. We had to pull up the carpet and throw it out it was so bad this time! We knew it was finally time to replace the sewer line. We had hoped to do trenchless were they pull the pipe through rather than dig up the yard. The plumbers had planned on doing it that way until the line broke and calpsed more. It was crumbling in our hands it was so bad as the plumber showed it to us. So dig up the yard they did! The boards are covering up the gaping hole. Arrgh you forget how nice in door plumbing is until you do not have it anymore! We have a make shift outhouse in the shed!

Doesn't meg look cute in her new glasses!
She told me as she walked out of the Dr.'s office I will not were glasses. It was a good thing they had to order her glasses so we had two weeks time to convince her to wear them. She was all excited to wear them as the optometrist put them on. She is getting used to them. She has tried to take them off a few times, but she can not we had put a strap on her glasses that pulls tight behind her head under her hair until she gets used to them. Maybe after summer when she goes to kindergarten she will not have to wear the strap, but she will always have to wear her glasses from now on.

So mark took me out for Chinese. I love love sweet and sour chicken mmmm. This was brave on his part he does not like Chinese at all. Then we went to see a movie. When we got home my oldest had told all the kids to make me a mother's day gift. Collin made me this mother dinosaur out of battery legs and electronic mother boards with a nest made out of elecrtic cords. It was so cute. Parker made our family out of paper jumping frogs! Sariah made me a cute card, meg drew me flowers and cute them out! They were so darn cute I was tearing up. My kids had made me fell like I was the best mother in the world!

Parker graduated cub scout April 27th 2010 with His arrow of light. The cub scout eagle rank! He is very excited to go to 11yr. old scouts. He can not wait to got to scout camp next year and go to young mens. He keeps begging dad to let him go now. Parker got a Webelos super Achiever award for completing all twenty pins for webelos. It is not required to get all 20, but parker got all of them. The scout Master said in all his many many years in scouting he has never given one before.
Our Neighbor, Bro. Mike Jensen who used to be the varsity scout master brought over this Eagle crust pie he made and gave it to Collin in honor of him. Bro. Mike Jensen helped Collin out a lot with his eagle project. He spent ours after everyone else left smoothing out the concrete with his sons. We also want to thank all those we gave Collin cards, words of congratulations and came to watch him receive his award.
After Sariah's Baptism and Collin's eagle court of honor. We went back to our house for a big dinner with friends, neighbors, and family. I had this cake made to for dessert to celebrate for both Sariah and Collin.
Collin's Eagle Court of Honor May 1st 2010

Collin eagle scout age 14.

Collin with his parents and his scout mentor Andy Jensen. When you get your eagle award, the recipient (Collin) is given three pins to give one to his mom ,his dad, and then a mentor who helped you along your way to help you achieve your eagle rank. Collin wanted his scout master Andy to get this mentor pin. Andy was so surprised. We just asked him make sure he was their. He was unaware that Collin has chosen him as his mentor. This is a great honor for Andy, and well deserved. Andy talked about the dedication Collin had and a story of Collin's first year at camp This was the year Collin was so sick at camp . He ended up being rushed to the doctor in town two hours away with a ruptured ear drum. Collin was so miserable , but he finished camp with all six the merit badges you could receive at camp. The only boy to do so that year at camp! Collin's eagle was presented by his grandfather Dr. Leon Grange. You should have seen my dad that day I think he was more excited then us as parents! My dad has waited many years to pass on his eagle bandelo. Collin is supposed to pass it on to the next generation!

Dr. William Leon Grange

I have never seen my dad smile with true joy until he gave his grandson Collin his eagle rank! We love you dad, and grandpa and miss having you live close.

EASTER
The kids had a fun Easter. We sat around watching General Conferance and eating ham and hard boiled eggs for breakfast and easter candy. I always enjoy listening to conferance. It lifts my spirit and fills our home and hearts with peace. Mark is being goofy as usaully. He has been begging me to get him something to save stuff on the computer for geneolgy and his church stuff. So I bought him a flash drive for easter. Collin was jealous he has been wanting one as well! Do you know how hard it is to get this boy Collin to smile for pictures! Parker loved his scout shirt he got for his birthday. He wore it all easter until I told him to take it off. Now sariah she loves to pose and smile for the camera.
Each of the girls got a bug kit for easter. They love to catch bugs!

THE BIRTHDAY BOY PARKER AGE 11. TODAY APRIL 6TH.
Parker had an Easter Egg Hunt Birthday Party . His birthday was two days away from Easter this year so we decided to combine the egg hunt that grandma Grange used to do for the grand kids for Easter and do it for his birthday . The kids were so sad that Grandma Grange moved out of state. She always hosted a traditional Easter egg hunt for the kids for Easter so I decided to have one.
I made Parker Easter basket cupcakes for his birthday. This is a picture of Parker with cousin Desiree ,who turned 5 the same week, and Uncle Scott Gibby. We combined Parker and Desiree's party together for family that was coming from out of town.
These are pics of the Easter egg hunt! Meg:

Collin tried out for the University of Utah and Brigerland Honor Band. He made it this year .(Last year he didn't.) He had a grueling practice schedule last Thursday evening in Logan at USU, Friday all day, and early Sat. morning. Then in the late afternoon he performed for parents and family. It was amazing the talent these kids had it almost sounded like the Utah Symphony.

We had a very busy week the week of our 17th Anniversary. We had the mystery dinner we were in. We practiced twice that week. Then we had the day of the performanceon our Anniversary. Thursday our free night mark had to refree the young mens basketball. We just couldn't find the time to have a romantic outing. Mark came home from work on the day of our anniversary with these flowers for me. Mind you mark does not give me flowers very often. I can can count on one hand the times he has given them to. I think he wants them to be extra special when he does, plus he has a hard time spending that much money on them, as do I being thrifty . He told me: The white ones are for eternity. The red rose is for love. The carnations are your favorite.(They remind me of my late mother.)They are green for two reasons mostly to represent the St.Patricks day parade that we could see through the temple gates on our wedding day, and because it is your favorite color. I am married to a hopeless romantic> I am so lucky!
